Muan White Lotus Festival

The White lotus festival in Muan has the biggest lotus habitat in all of South-East Asia, roughly 330.000 m2 in size. It is held every summer in Muan, Jeollanam. As opposed to most lotus habitats, the Muan habitat has unique white lotus.
During the festival, there are many performances you can watch. There is also a museum for art from the region, that is displayed in the lotus-shaped building called 회산백련지 [hoesanbaengnyŏnji] in the middle of the park.
More artworks are strewn throughout the habitat, making for some nice variation.
Of course, the white lotus are still the main event. There's a section of the festival where you can get various delicacies, many of them made with the white lotus from the area. To view them in nature, you can walk along the hanging bridge going through the habitat, and you are also able to go onto the watch tower to take everything in from a higher level.
To get a different vantage point, you are also able to rent a small boat for ₩10,000, where you can peddle between the white lotus. Here, you can get a view of the small creatures that lives among the lotus.
